Divorce
The Golden State has strict disclosure
requirements for cases in family court. For example, within 60 days of
initiating a divorce, each party must file a Preliminary Declaration of
Disclosure. This is a voluminous document which generally outlines all known
assets and liabilities, including their estimated or known values. It is
signed under penalty of perjury. Later, at least 45 days prior to trial, a
Final Declaration of Disclosure must also be filed.
This final
disclosure statement is an in depth declaration of all assets, whether
claimed as community or separate property, as well as their precise values,
and other information necessary for their valuation. This financial
declaration can acutally be waived. However i dont recomend that
